To start the lesson, James took us through a few websites; one of them was https://learningmusic.ableton.com/
We also looked briefly at James’ online course “The Place of Music in 21st Century Education” offered by the University of Sydney, and he gave a quick explanation about what was involved in the course. Anyone can take it, as it is a free course. So, if you’re interested in learning more about the importance of music in education, check it out!
We then had a special guest take over from James, and she took us through something called gamification! She not only explained what it was, but gave us some ideas about how we could use this technique in our classroom. One of the games we played was “Rise of the Rhythm”, and was also had a play around with a website called “Isle of Tune”.
